The Washington Capitals air broadcasts of their games on WJFK 106.7 FM and Hubbard Radio (WFED 1500).

Caps Radio 24/7, launched in April 2015, is the official audio channel of the Washington Capitals, featuring round-the-clock news updates, player interviews, and music selected by players, coaches, fans, and the team's game entertainment staff. Caps Radio 24/7 is the online home of the Capitals Radio Network, airing all Capitals games as well as select Hershey Bears and South Carolina Stingrays broadcasts. The station can be accessed, free of charge, via the Caps Mobile App radio button as well as through TuneIn radio app and anywhere online at www.capsradio247.com.

The Washington Capitals air broadcasts of their games on WJFK 106.7 FM and Hubbard Radio (WFED 1500). 106.7 The Fan serves as the flagship FM station for the Capitals, carrying Capitals games plus pre- and postgame shows. WFED 1500 AM will serve as the AM destination for the team. Capitals game broadcasts all include 15 minutes of pre-game coverage prior to puck drop and 30 minutes after the game concludes.

Extended pregame coverage can be heard before every Capitals broadcast with Caps GameDay beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET exclusively on Caps Radio 24/7. Hosted by Ben Raby, the show features the latest lineup news plus one-on-one interviews with players and coaches and both local and national media.

John Walton

Senior Director of Broadcasting/ Radio Play-by-Play Announcer

John Walton enters his 13th season as the radio play-by-play voice of the Washington Capitals, and also serves as the team's Senior Director of Broadcasting, overseeing the Washington Capitals Radio Network and Caps Radio 24/7, the team’s 24-hour audio channel.

In addition to calling the play-by-play on the Capitals Radio Network, Walton also calls hockey on both the national and international stage for NBC Sports, having previously called college, NHL, Stanley Cup Playoff and Olympic hockey for the network dating back to 2012. He was also on the call for the Capitals on radio as the team won its first Stanley Cup title in franchise history in 2018.

Prior to joining the Capitals, Walton was the Senior Manager of Communications for Washington’s American Hockey League affiliate in Hershey, where he called the action for the Bears for nine seasons. Walton called three Calder Cup championship seasons for the Bears, in 2006, 2009 and 2010, and called the play-by-play for Hershey’s postseason games on NHL Network and Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic.

In addition to hockey, Walton served as the public address announcer for the Cincinnati Reds from 1996- 2002 at Riverfront Stadium/Cinergy Field. He also during his time in Cincinnati was the first play-by-play voice of the AHL's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks from 1997-2000 and also served as a sports anchor/helicopter traffic reporter for WLW-AM 700 in Cincinnati. Walton began his hockey play-by-play career at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he was the Voice of the Redhawks from 1994-96, and also announced football and basketball at WRBI-FM 103.9 in Batesville, Indiana during that time.

In addition to sports, Walton was also a disc jockey at 97 X, WOXYFM in Oxford, a station recognized by Rolling Stone Magazine four times in the 1990's as one of the magazine's "15 Best Radio Stations."

Ken Sabourin

Analyst

Ken Sabourin returns to the Capitals’ broadcast team for his 21st year providing insightful analysis for radio coverage of home games. Sabourin joined the team in 2002-03.

A player for five years in the NHL and a defenseman for Washington during the 1990-91 and ’91-92 campaigns, Sabourin retired from professional hockey following the 1998-99 season. In 74 games with Washington and Calgary, the native of Scarborough, Ontario, recorded two goals and eight assists, including five points in 28 games for the Capitals in 1990-91. In 47 games over his two seasons with Washington, Sabourin recorded one goal and four assists while registering 129 penalty minutes. While playing for Calgary in 1988-89, Sabourin appeared in one playoff game en route to the Flames’ Stanley Cup title.

Drafted by Calgary in the second round (33rd overall) of the 1984 Entry Draft, Sabourin continued his hockey involvement following his playing career by serving as an analyst for the Sunshine Network’s coverage of the now-defunct Orlando Solar Bears of the International Hockey League. He remains active in area youth hockey and with the Capitals alumni group

Ben Raby

Host

Ben Raby returns for his 14th season along the Capitals Radio Network and his 10th as host of the broadcast's pregame, intermission and postgame shows. 

Among Raby's highlights on the Capitals Radio Network was serving as the broadcast's rinkside sideline reporter during the 2015 NHL Bridgestone Winter Classic from Nationals Park. Since arriving in D.C. in 2009, Raby has also served as a Capitals correspondent for NHL.com, CSNMidAtlantic.com and the Washington Post Express.

Away from the rink, Raby is a sports anchor with WTOP and an associate producer with CSN MidAtlantic. He is also a correspondent for MLB.com and the Associated Press.

Raby began his broadcasting career in Montreal with a four-year stint at The Team 990 primarily covering the CFL's Alouettes and later hosting the Canadiens weekend postgame shows. His broadcasting experience also includes time as a television sports reporter at CTV Montreal and as a writer and story editor for TSN's Sportscentre.

Raby earned a Master's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University and a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Concordia University in Montreal. The Montreal native has an unhealthy obsession with the 1994 Expos and would like to see Major League Baseball someday return to his hometown.
